Crests~

Seeing as how I'm re-creating four house crests/coat of arms (which were originally the last names of the founders of the school) I thought I'd make a quick research post about crests in general. The design is a symbol unique to a person, family, corporation, or state. They are also called armorial bearings, armorial devices, heraldic devices, or arms.

Here's the Wortley one:

Motto: Avito Viret Honore
Meaning : He flourishes through the ancestors of his ancestors.

How poignant?
My name basically means 'forest clearing where vegetables are grown'.
It's ok. I laughed too.
